Industrial Maintenance Electrician

Summary:

Perform duties to maintain production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.

Duties:

  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations
  • Layout, correctly size, and install 110/220 and 440V services
  • Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components
  • Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical service, machine tools, overhead crane, and HVAC electrical issues and service problems
  • Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators and reactors
  • Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices
  • Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records
  • May install, maintain and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices.

Requirements:

  • Industrial (Sheet Metal) Equipment Maintenance experience,
  • Technical Understanding, Technical Zeal,
  • Deals with Uncertainty,
  • Basic Safety,
  • Knowledge of Power and Hand Tools,
  • Attention to Detail, Flexibility,
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an industrial electrician role
  • Must to able to work in small, tight places in a hot environment
  • Higher levels and lift heavy equipment
  • Experience with correct personal protective equipment and protocols for working with voltages up to 13.8 KV
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent work experience
